Job summary

Stripe is seeking an experienced engineer for the High Availability and Disaster Recovery team. You will design and implement highly available, data‑protected systems and contribute to Stripe’s global resilience.

You’ll work on latency‑sensitive problems, evaluate cross‑region TLS handshakes, and build greenfield solutions to ensure uptime and durability. You will collaborate with leaders and engineers across the company to identify reliability opportunities, scope large projects, and mentor the

Qualifications

10+ years of distributed and cloud-native software development experience.
Deep understanding of scalable, resilient, distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
Experience leading large projects across many teams.
Collaborative environment involving diverse stakeholders.
High level of autonomy, responsibility, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Strong history as a technical lead and mentor across engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Actively work with leaders and engineers across the company to improve Stripe’s reliability posture.
Scope, design, implement, and deploy robust distributed services with tradeoffs on reliability, throughput, latency, resiliency and cost.
Innovate and design new products to improve service resiliency and engineering velocity at scale.
Mentor and grow the next generation of technical leaders at Stripe.
Contribute to engineering strategy, tooling, processes, and culture.
Uphold high engineering standards and improve codebase and processes.
