Job summary

Stripe, LLC is seeking a senior software engineer to help design and implement global, highly available architectures across data centers and regions. You will tackle latency-sensitive challenges, data redundancy, and cross-region coordination while contributing to system reliability at scale.

Applicants should have 5+ years in software development and strong experience with Go, Ruby, or Java, plus cloud services and distributed systems design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of software development
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years of software development (alternative)
• 3 years of experience in Go, Ruby, or Java
• 3 years of experience with cloud infrastructure services (S3, EBS, EC2, VPCs)
• 3 years of experience designing Temporal workflows
• 3 years of experience using Trino SQL for data analysis and visualization
• 3 years of experience designing fault-tolerant systems using data sharding and replication

Responsibilities

• Develop global architecture by combining components and data centers into a highly available and resilient system.
• Work on latency-critical, time-sensitive and data redundancy solutions.
• Analyze issues in live distributed production systems and implement fixes.
• Collaborate across teams to share insights on multi-region architectures and durable patterns.
• Write, scope, design, implement, and deploy solutions using Ruby, Java, Mongo, Postgres, and other tools.
• Uphold engineering standards through design and code reviews.
• Learn and communicate best practices for uptime and data protection.
