Job summary

Venice, the world’s leading consumer AI company built on privacy and user sovereignty, is hiring a lead for fraud and abuse prevention. You will own end-to-end detection systems, investigate incidents hands-on, and collaborate with the payments team to build robust controls as we scale.

You will stop automated abuse, prevent account takeover, and iterate with data to optimize accuracy, impact, and user trust across a fast-growing consumer platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong security fundamentals.
• Comfortable across TypeScript, Rust, and Python in production systems.
• Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity in a new function.
• Pragmatic about tooling and choosing the right fraud/abuse stack.
• Incident response mindset: you investigate and fix without a runbook.

Responsibilities

• Build detection systems from scratch using rules engines and behavioral signals.
• Investigate incidents hands-on and ship fixes, owning the outcome.
• Partner with payments to build fraud controls into the payment flow.
• Stop automated abuse like bot-driven signup, rate-limiting evasion, and API abuse.
• Prevent account takeover through detection and friction.
• Iterate with data to tune thresholds and reduce false positives.
