Job summary

Terracon in Portland, OR seeks an engineer to provide engineering and consulting services across a broad range of projects. Responsibilities include field investigations, analysis, calculations, and preparation of plans, specifications, proposals, and reports.

You will review drawings for compliance and communicate complex engineering concepts to clients and teams. Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering with 1–3 years of experience; a master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience.
• Master’s degree in Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and report safety issues to management.
• Demonstrate quality practices and acumen.
• Provide consistent quality standards on proposal and project delivery.
• Manage and execute small projects of minimal complexity.
• Assist in developing the scope of work for routine projects.
• Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, and other project documents.
• Analyze data and perform engineering calculations for PE review.
• Conduct, coordinate or supervise field investigations, laboratory testing, and evaluation of data.
• Develop plans and schedules for assigned project work.
• Work with senior project management and Professional Engineer of Record.
• Provide design recommendations and modifications for review by the PE of Record.
• Prepare work scopes, proposals and reports for approval by senior professionals.
• May supervise field staff and support personnel.
• Interact with client and project team on scope and progress.
• Work under supervision of a PE and Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.
