Job summary

A leading construction materials company in Waukesha is seeking a Staff Engineer – Electrical to manage the design of utility-scale solar projects. This role involves collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop electrical layouts and specifications, as well as performing site reviews and construction visits. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy Systems, proficiency in AutoCAD and ETAP, and excellent communication skills. Qualifications

• Must have a valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
• Reliable, efficient self-starter with initiative.
• Prior internship experience is preferred.
• Internship experience preferred.
• AutoCAD and ETAP experience preferred.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IEC, UL, NESC.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, email and in writing.
• Ability to keep accurate and detailed records or notes.

Responsibilities to include:* Perform electrical design of utility-scale solar projects from the conceptual phase through design completion. This includes collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop equipment layouts, one-line diagrams, cable routing, communications systems design, grounding design, equipment selection, and equipment specifications.* Perform electrical system modeling in ETAP to evaluate cable ampacity, voltage drop, ground potential rise, and thermal performance.
