Job summary

OneTrust, LLC is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Reporting, Data Platform & Observability team in Atlanta, GA. This hands-on role focuses on building distributed backend services and data-processing pipelines across Java microservices and Python/PySpark workloads.

You will own features end-to-end, improve reliability, and enhance observability with metrics, traces, and dashboards using Datadog and Grafana. Collaboration with product managers and fellow engineers is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating production software as autonomous IC.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot; design and operate distributed systems.
• Production experience with asynchronous or event-driven systems, preferably Kafka.
• Strong experience with Python, PySpark, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and Azure Databricks.
• Hands-on with TDD, automated testing, and quality gates supporting fast delivery.
• Experience with Datadog and Grafana for metrics, logs, tracing, dashboards.
• Experience with incident response, PagerDuty, and on-call rotation.
• Ability to use AI tooling to produce production-ready code and tests.

Responsibilities

• Own complex features from discovery through production rollout across backend and data pipelines.
• Design, build, and operate production services with Java, Spring Boot, and Maven.
• Develop event-driven functionality with Kafka and related messaging patterns.
• Build and maintain Python/PySpark data pipelines on Azure Databricks.
• Improve observability with metrics, logs, traces, and dashboards using Datadog and Grafana.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident-response workflows.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to deliver outcomes.
