Clara, the leading spend management platform in Latin America, seeks a Staff Engineer to shape architecture across pods and multiply impact through design, code, and mentorship. This IC role emphasizes hands‑on delivery and system ownership across services and platforms.

You will ship production code, review designs, and drive long‑term coherence and operability while raising engineering standards across teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering on complex systems.
• Deep expertise in one backend or frontend area and full‑stack reasoning.
• Proven ability to design for high availability, security and operability.
• Strong testing culture including unit/integration/contract testing.

Responsibilities

• Own cross‑team architecture and drive system design across pods.
• Set and model standards for code quality, testing, observability, security.
• Lead RFCs, architecture reviews and deep pairing sessions.
• Mentor Senior and Mid engineers and participate in hiring signals.
• Lead or co‑lead incident response for high‑severity events.
• Contribute hands‑on delivery with meaningful PRs.
