Job summary

Ember Grey is seeking a Senior Staff Controls Engineer to lead controls engineering for major automation and capital projects across multiple U.S. facilities.

You will design and deploy PLC, HMI, SCADA, and machine control systems while acting as the technical authority for controls architecture and system integration. This high-impact role requires extensive experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI/SCADA tools, and strong project leadership to coordinate contractors and ensure startup

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • 10+ years of industrial automation and controls engineering experience in manufacturing, OEM, system integration, or process industries.
  • Strong PLC programming experience, particularly with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platforms; exposure to Siemens and Omron systems.
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA technologies such as FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Optix, or iFix.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking, process control, system integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience leading controls scope on capital projects and coordinating contractors, machine builders, or system integrators.

  • Design and deploy integrated automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA platforms, industrial networks, and machine control systems.

We have been contracted by a leading advanced manufacturing and materials technology company to identify a Senior Staff Controls Engineer to join a growing automation engineering team. This is a high-impact role supporting capital projects and manufacturing automation initiatives across multiple U.S. facilities, with the opportunity to influence automation strategy at scale.

What You'll Do
