Job description

This role is open to remote or hybrid candidates (East Coast preference), with hybrid being central to our New York, NY or Charlotte area offices. Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time hours.

What You’ll Do

• Solving complex, mission-critical problems that require cross-team collaboration and deep technical evaluation.
• Acting as a trusted technical consultant and architect for multiple teams within an industry group.
• Partnering with product and business stakeholders to align technical direction with measurable outcomes and company goals.
• Exploring and evaluating emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to leverage new tools, frameworks, or paradigms that create business value.
• Leading technical design, planning, and execution for large‑scale initiatives that span multiple systems in their product domains.
• Assessing and executing trade‑off decisions between performance, scalability, maintainability, and cost.
• Defining and delivering technical stories that improve the integrity, performance, and long‑term sustainability of shared systems.
• Conducting architectural reviews with the broader Staff group and proactively identifying areas for simplification, modernization, and risk reduction.
• Mentoring and developing engineers through design reviews, pair programming, and technical coaching.
• Championing consistency in design patterns, operational excellence, and engineering best practices across teams.
• Contributing to a culture of continuous learning and innovation — modeling curiosity, experimentation, and collaboration.

Compensation

• Total Cash Compensation Range: $130,000 – $210,000 per year
• New York Cash Compensation Range: $162,500 – $262,500 per year
