Bankrate is seeking a Staff Engineer to bridge deep technical execution with strategic business outcomes. This role opens to remote or hybrid candidates, with East Coast preference for office locations in New York, NY or Charlotte; must work Eastern Time hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Solve complex, mission-critical problems that require cross-team collaboration and deep technical evaluation.
• Act as a trusted technical consultant and architect for multiple teams within an industry group.
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to align technical direction with measurable outcomes and company goals.
• Explore and evaluate emerging technologies, identifying opportunities to leverage new tools, frameworks, or paradigms that create business value.
• Lead technical design, planning, and execution for large-scale initiatives that span multiple systems in their product domains.
• Assess and execute trade-off decisions between performance, scalability, maintainability, and cost.

Compensation:

Total Cash Compensation Range: $130,000 - $210,000 per year

New York City Total Cash Compensation Range: $162,500 - $262,500 per year

Actual compensation varies based on location, experience, and qualifications.
