Job summary

SonderMind is hiring a Staff Engineer to own end-to-end features across backend services, AI pipelines, and frontend interfaces. You’ll troubleshoot complex problems, optimize architecture, and guide microservice design while collaborating with product, design, and QA teams.

You’ll work with high-performance tools and may explore ML/AI concepts; experience with GenAI systems and an AI toolchain is highly valued. Strong mentoring skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building web services or full-stack applications.
• Strong hands-on experience in Ruby/Rails, TypeScript/Node, Python or similar backends.
• Deep understanding of APIs and PostgreSQL; performance tuning.
• Proven ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term technical investments.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable services and APIs.
• Optimize queries and service performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features.
• Lead complex projects as a technical lead and mentor juniors.
