Job summary

Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative Inc is seeking an electrical engineer to support planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of SVEC’s distribution facilities and substations.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; knowledge of NESC and RUS standards, distribution modeling, GIS, SCADA/OMS, and engineering design software; and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred (related engineering disciplines considered)
• Knowledge of NESC and RUS standards
• Familiarity with distribution system modeling, GIS, SCADA, OMS and engineering design software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational and project management skills
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license

Job description

This position provides engineering support for planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of SVEC’s electrical distribution facilities and substations.

Job Related Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university preferred. (Degrees in a related engineering discipline may be considered)
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and Rural Utilities Service (RUS) standards.
• Familiarity with distribution system modeling, GIS, SCADA, OMS, and engineering design software is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and other engineering software applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
