Job summary

QuidelOrtho in San Diego is seeking a Staff Software Test Engineer, Embedded Systems, to join the R&D Software Engineering team. You will own the testing of end-to-end workflows for next-generation diagnostic platforms, design automation-ready tests, and drive automated test suites across instrument software, cloud connectivity, and cybersecurity.

This hybrid role requires 7+ years in software testing, proficiency with Python, Linux, and automated test frameworks such as Squish and Robot

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
7+ years of software testing experience.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
Experience testing embedded software in Linux-based environments.
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test systems.
Planning, writing, and executing test plans and test cases.
Effective communicator with excellent organizational skills.
Experience with Agile processes.
Experience estimating, planning, and sequencing software testing work.
Commitment to regulatory compliance under FDA/ISO.

Responsibilities

Own the technical testing approach for instrument software across development lifecycle.
Author, execute, and verify test plans and test cases for instrument software.
Design automation-ready test cases; collaborate on test scripts and frameworks.
Lead and collaborate with internal and third-party teams for quality and testing.
Ensure design control and testing documentation in FDA-regulated environment.
Provide effort estimates and risk input to planning and delivery.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
