Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Apopka, FL is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, operate, and maintain software and firmware for defense systems.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with extensive experience in C/C++, Python, Linux or VxWorks RTOS, and a strong background in software architecture, DevOps, and Agile practices. U.S. Citizenship and Secret Clearance are required; occasional travel to support programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field.
Experience with Object Oriented Programming in C/C++. Java familiarity a plus.
Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash).
Experience Developing Embedded Software running Linux or VxWorks RTOS.
Familiarity with Software architecture and design patterns.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (DevOps).
Familiarity with software development methodologies (Waterfall/Agile).
Familiarity with version control systems (Git, GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, ClearCase) and Agile tools (Rally, Jira).
US Citizenship required; ability to obtain/maintain Secret Clearance.
Occasional Travel required to support program needs.

Collaborate with customers, suppliers, application users and other technical staff.
