Job summary

Siemens Healthineers is seeking a staff-level Electrical Engineer to act as a technical authority for embedded hardware in next-generation medical devices. You will own architecture across multi-board systems, define interfaces, and mentor other engineers.

This individual contributor role collaborates with external partners and internal teams to ensure design quality, test strategies, and regulatory alignment, spanning analog, digital, power, and real-time systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Significant experience (typically 8+ years) delivering embedded hardware in complex products.
• Demonstrated system-level ownership: electrical architecture, subsystem partitioning, interface definition, and integration across multiple boards.
• Strong design fundamentals across mixed-signal embedded systems (analog + digital + power).
• Experience collaborating with external design partners and/or suppliers; comfortable driving technical accountability without direct authority.
• Working knowledge of DFX practices: DFM/DFA/DFT, testability, and manufacturing robustness.
• Ability to communicate clearly across disciplines (systems, firmware, mechanical, assay/chemistry, manufacturing, quality).

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or co-lead definitions of electrical architecture for complex multi-board embedded systems.
• Serve as internal technical approver for electrical design decisions and reviews.
• Provide hands-on mentorship and technical direction to other engineers.
• Partner with external development partners to drive design quality and alignment to regulatory needs.
• Represent engineering with PCBA manufacturers on DfA/assembly/test topics and manufacturing escalations.
• Support evaluation of manufacturing test approaches and diagnostics.
• Drive system integration across mixed-domain subsystems including analog, digital, power, sensors, and real-time orchestration.
• Collaborate with firmware/software teams on embedded platform integration (Yocto/Linux on Cortex-A SoCs/SoMs, MCU/FPGA involvement).
• Define robust internal interfaces and reliability/diagnostic strategies for regulated medical environments.
• Provide escalation support for on-market products when issues exceed sustainment teams.
