Job summary

Henpen Corporation in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead design decisions for advanced radar and mission-critical systems. The role combines hands-on hardware work with architectural leadership across the full development lifecycle.

You will design and validate high-speed digital and mixed-signal electronics, develop FPGA logic, and guide integration with PCIe, DDR4/5, Ethernet, and related interfaces. Relocation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
• 8–12 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong high-speed digital design and signal integrity skills.
• Hands-on FPGA, VHDL/HDL, and processor architecture knowledge.
• Experience with PCB layout and schematic capture.
• Familiarity with PCIe, DDR4/5, Ethernet, USB, and SPI/I2C is a plus.
• Ability to lead complex problem-solving and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate high-speed digital, embedded, and mixed-signal electronic systems.
• Develop circuitry using PCIe, DDR4/5, Ethernet, SGMII, USB, SPI, and I2C.
• Create FPGA logic using VHDL/HDL and support processor and system integration.
• Develop schematics and PCB layouts using Altium.
• Lead hardware bring-up, verification, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Build test setups and procedures to evaluate performance and reliability.
• Support prototype assembly, component rework, and field troubleshooting.
• Guide technical reviews, maintain clear documentation, and meet applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
