Job summary

NPAworldwide in Sioux Falls, SD seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and validate advanced electronic systems for radar and mission-critical applications. This hands-on technical leadership role spans system architecture, high-speed digital design, FPGA-based systems, and hardware integration.

You will lead design efforts, mentor engineers, create schematics and PCBs in Altium, verify hardware, and collaborate with suppliers and customers to deliver reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Approximately 8–12 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong experience with high-speed digital design and signal integrity.
• Hands-on FPGA-based systems experience with VHDL/HDL.
• Proficiency with Altium for schematic capture and PCB design.
• Experience with PCIe, DDR4/5, Ethernet, USB, SPI.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate electronic systems with FPGAs, mixed-signal electronics, and RF components.
• Develop high-speed circuitry including PCIe, DDR4/5, Ethernet, USB.
• Create FPGA logic using VHDL/HDL and support embedded architectures.
• Develop schematics and PCB layouts in Altium and support test.
• Lead hardware verification, lab testing, root-cause analysis.
• Build test setups and procedures using lab instrumentation.
• Support prototype development, hardware integration, and field issues.
• Produce technical documentation and ensure compliance with standards.
• Provide technical leadership and collaborate with teams, suppliers, customers.
• Contribute to project planning and continuous improvement.
