Job summary

Stryker Corporation in Portage, MI is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead development of medical device hardware from concept through launch. You will design, validate, and integrate complex embedded electronics, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, high-quality products for EMS.

Responsibilities include schematics, BOMs, PCB layout, hardware bring-up, DFMEA, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
4+ years in electrical hardware design.
Experience designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting electronic systems.
Proficiency with electrical design tools for schematic capture, circuit design, and analysis.
Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals, components, and system-level design principles.

Responsibilities

Translate user and clinical needs into design inputs, specs, and hardware solutions.
Design and develop embedded systems and electronic hardware.
Create and maintain schematics and BOMs using EDA tools.
Lead PCB design and layout, ensuring signal integrity, power integrity, thermal performance, and manufacturability.
Perform hands-on board bring-up, debugging, testing, and root cause investigations.
Develop and execute hardware verification activities, including test plans, DFMEA, design controls, risk management, and compliance documentation.
Collaborate with firmware, software, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, clinical, and cross-functional teams.
Drive medical device product development from concept through launch with VOC feedback.
