Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer-PCB in Portage, MI, within the Orthopaedic Instruments R&D team. You will design and optimize electrical components for established medical devices, focusing on performance, reliability, manufacturability, and patient outcomes.

Lead with data-driven methods and collaborate across functions to drive device evolution. You will prototype, test, and translate clinical needs into design specs, while mentoring teammates on design controls, risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• PCB/circuit design, electrical system testing and troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to interpret and analyze system-level drawings and interactions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical components and subsystems for medical devices, meeting performance and compliance standards.
• Apply advanced circuit and system test methods to validate designs and ensure reliability.
• Lead prototyping and testing efforts to evaluate design feasibility and performance.
• Translate user needs into design inputs and specifications, ensuring alignment with clinical requirements.
• Analyze and resolve complex design issues using data-driven approaches to improve processes and outcomes.
• Collaborate across R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to drive project success.
• Author and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files, in compliance with regulatory standards.
