Job summary

Illumina, Inc. is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead the lifecycle management of high‑performance sequencing hardware. You will own the HPC/Compute Engine domain and guide a growing team through complex investigations across the product lifecycle.

You will ensure compliance with SOPs and collaborate with software, firmware, and sourcing to optimize performance, cost, and supply continuity while mentoring junior engineers and shaping future leadership within the Lifecyle Management group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
• Master’s degree with 6+ years; PhD with 3+ years preferred for advanced roles.
• Experience leading full lifecycle management of electronic systems in complex products.

Responsibilities

• Lead LCM projects end-to-end: scoping, planning, risk management, release.
• Own HPC/Compute Engine server sub-system design, validation, and cost initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, WIs, and PLM infrastructure across engineering work.
• Mentor and guide engineers; build cross-functional partnerships.
