The Opportunity
This is a hands-on technical leadership role for an electrical engineer who still wants to be at the bench. You’ll design, validate, and integrate electronic systems for complex radar and mission-critical applications, working from system architecture through prototype, test, and deployment.
The base is $135,000–$165,000, relocation is paid, and the work covers high-speed digital, FPGA-based systems, and mixed-signal electronics in an aerospace and defense setting.
Why This Opportunity Is Worth a Look
- Salary of $135,000–$165,000, with relocation paid and top benefits
- Full-cycle ownership: concept, schematic, layout, bring-up, test, and field support
- Real interface work: PCIe, DDR4/5, Ethernet, SGMII, USB, SPI, and I²C
- Technical leadership: you’ll lead critical design efforts and mentor other engineers, and your input goes into project planning, system architecture, and proposals
- Radar and mission-critical systems, not commodity hardware
What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like
- Design and validate systems built around high-speed digital interfaces, FPGAs, embedded processors, mixed-signal electronics, and RF components
- Write FPGA logic in VHDL/HDL and support embedded system architecture and integration
- Develop schematics and PCB layouts in Altium, supporting simulation, fabrication, bring-up, and testing
- Lead hardware verification, lab testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
- Build test setups, write test procedures, and validate designs with lab instrumentation
- Support prototype builds, hardware integration, precision soldering, component rework, and field troubleshooting
- Document designs and make sure they meet applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standards
- Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, and customers
