Job summary

Dolby seeks an experienced Staff Electrical Engineer for the Consumer Entertainment group in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will develop hardware and embedded software to enable next-generation audio experiences across devices.

You will collaborate with acoustics, mechanical, electrical, and software teams to craft holistic, audio-centric hardware solutions and prototypes for customer demos.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of proven industry experience.
• Experience designing mixed-signal systems for consumer products.
• Experience with audio components: class D amps, ADCs/DACs/CODECs, DSPs, MEMS.
• Experience with I2S/TDM, PDM, SPDIF, Dante and control buses (I2C, SPI, UART).
• PCB design experience with tools like Xpedition and PLM systems.

Responsibilities

• Work with external customers and Dolby teams to bring new audio experiences to devices.
• Develop hardware platforms to enable Dolby technologies.
• Design analog and digital electronics for audio applications.
• Simulate and analyze circuit topologies for audio systems.
• Evaluate components and modules for new designs.
• Develop prototypes to demonstrate Dolby technologies.
• Collaborate with acoustic, mechanical, and software engineers on holistic solutions.
• Work with software engineers to enable DSP on hardware designs.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers for prototype builds.
