Staff Electrical Engineer - Aviation & Federal (Kansas City)

Join the Aviation & Federal global practice at Burns & McDonnell as a Staff Electrical Engineer! The electrical team focuses on building power, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, and low-voltage design.

The Staff Electrical Engineer will join dynamic project teams to deliver world-class designs for projects across aviation and federal sectors, including airports, military facilities, hangars, industrial labs, and government buildings for clients such as commercial airlines, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Energy.

Responsibilities include designing electrical systems, supporting project teams, coordinating with other disciplines, conducting site investigations, preparing technical documents, and supporting construction activities. Familiarity with UFC, NEC, NFPA, and federal standards is preferred.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, with 3+ years of experience, or a Master's Degree with 2+ years. Consulting experience and certifications like EIT are preferred. Strong communication, technical, and computer skills are essential.
