Job summary

Jobtailor in Niwot, Colorado seeks a senior Electrical Engineer to lead development of high-sensitivity, laser-based measurement systems and to guide multiple projects with strong technical leadership. You will evaluate circuits, mentor engineers, and shape product designs through rigorous analysis and testing.

Must have 15+ years in analog/opto-electronics, expertise in low-noise designs, and experience with CMOS imagers.

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
15+ years of analog or opto-electronics circuit design experience.
Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB designs for noise and EMC.
Experience with lasers and opto-electronics.
Experience with PIN diodes, PMT, APD, and SiAPD photo-detectors.
Experience with low-noise transimpedance amplifiers and high-sensitivity detection.
Experience using analog circuit simulators.
Understanding of analog and high-speed digital layout design.
Experience with advanced circuit test and evaluation methods.
Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
Effective coaching and mentoring skills for early-career electrical engineers and technicians.
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Experience with Siemens Xpedition/EDM PCBA design application preferred.
Small-signal analysis and design of single- and multistage differential amplifiers preferred.
Understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit simulations preferred.
Design experience using CMOS imagers, including camera specifications and frame capture, preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead development of high-sensitivity, low-noise detection systems and stable laser-based measurement technologies.

Investigate off-the-shelf technologies and determine where custom solutions provide value.
Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand requirements.
Develop proposals and research emerging technologies and sensing approaches.
Prepare design documentation, reports, test plans, and specs.
Mentor and coach electrical engineers and technicians.
Participate in design reviews, root-cause investigations, and continuous improvement.
Evaluate engineering processes to improve efficiency, quality, reliability, and safety.

Requirements

Experience with low-noise analog amplifier designs, including stability and noise analysis preferred

Understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit simulations preferred
Design experience using CMOS imagers, including camera specifications and frame capture, preferred
Must be able to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods
Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. may be required
