Job summary

Jobtailor in Albuquerque, NM is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to plan, execute and document advanced tests across products and manufacturing processes. Qualifications

• 5+ years in engineering technician, construction, or facilities maintenance.
• 5+ years using powered hand tools or equipment.
• Willing to work variable shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• 9+ years related work experience or equivalent education/experience (preferred).
• Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (preferred).
• Experience assembling lab prototypes, chassis wiring, and mechanical mounting from schematics.
• Experience operating complex computer-based analysis or control systems (preferred).
• Experience with high power lasers (preferred).
• Experience with optical alignment techniques (preferred).
• Experience with electronics/electrical systems (preferred).
• Experience with mechanical systems (preferred).

• Designs, fabricates, builds and analyzes test systems, materials, components, software and methodologies.
• Coordinates test requirements and determines test methods and capabilities.
• Guides system integration, setup, checkout and teardown during test readiness.
• Maintains configuration control of test articles.
• Conducts complex tests, analyzes data and documents results; participates in test readiness reviews.
• Identifies and resolves test anomalies.
• Troubleshoots and resolves laboratory and test-related problems.
• Coordinates test lab activities, maintenance, repairs and training.
• Assists agencies and safety teams in emergencies.
• Supports optical alignment efforts with engineers and senior technicians.
• Serves as crew member for tests, including optics, lasers, telescope and camera operation.

• 5+ years of experience working with powered hand tools or equipment

• 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred)
• Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (preferred)
