Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a Staff Electrical Design Engineer (EPC) to own end-to-end electrical design for industrial, office, and lab facilities. You will serve as Electrical Engineer of Record across multiple projects, ensuring code-compliant, constructible packages and timely delivery.

The role requires 10+ years in heavy commercial/industrial sectors, PE licensure eligibility, and expertise in NEC/IECC/NFPA standards, Revit MEP, SKM/ETAP, and lighting design.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree required.
• PE license in Nevada or reciprocity eligible; must obtain Nevada/SC licenses within 2 months.
• Minimum 10 years in heavy commercial/industrial sectors with demonstrated ability.
• Strong NEC, IECC, NFPA knowledge and leadership in code analysis.
• Proficient in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and SKM/ETAP.
• Experience with ampacity tools and lighting calculations.

Responsibilities

• Design and own electrical systems for diverse facilities (MV/LV, lighting, grounding).
• Serve as Electrical Engineer of Record and produce permit drawings.
• Perform short-circuit, arc flash, and protection studies with SKM/ETAP.
• Carry out cable ampacity calculations to optimize cable sizes.
• Lead multi-discipline coordination for IFC packages.
• Review designs, prepare electrical specs, and conduct vendor bids.
• Lead NEC/IECC/NFPA code analyses and ensure compliance.
• Provide construction administration and RFI/submittal support.
• Prepare cost estimates, schedules, and QA/QC reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design standards.
