Job summary

Remitly is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Development Engineer for the Builder Experience team in Seattle, hybrid. You will own CI/CD, IDP, and internal developer platforms, enabling rapid, secure software delivery across the globe.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural reviews, and partner with Security and Compliance to meet regulatory requirements while advancing AI-assisted development workflows.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, incl. 2–3 years in Builder/tools or cloud infra.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or TypeScript with CI/CD and source-control platforms.
• Experience leading technical design reviews and large initiatives.
• Experience with security/compliance in regulated environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate CI/CD, IDP, and source-control platforms.
• Own reliability for Builder systems, including on-call and RCA.
• Extend tooling to include PMs, designers, and AI agents.
• Shape AI use in the development lifecycle and define standards for evaluation and validation.
• Lead design reviews and plan workstreams with AI considerations.
• Partner with Infrastructure, Security, and Compliance to ensure security and privacy.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to hiring and team maturity.
• Stay current on Builder platforms and AI-assisted engineering practices.
