Job summary

Cordova Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a Staff Development Nurse (RN) to lead educational initiatives for our nursing and support teams. You will coordinate onboarding, develop ongoing training, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting resident-focused care.

The role emphasizes staff competency, quality initiatives, and mentorship, with scheduling support to CNAs and nursing staff to maintain coverage and continuity of care in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Alabama (valid).
• Experience in long-term care or geriatrics strongly preferred.
• Minimum of three years nursing experience.
• Clerical ability to read reports and use data.
• Ability to plan and direct the department, coordinating with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and implement ongoing educational programs for nursing and support staff.
• Conduct new employee orientation and onboarding.
• Evaluate staff competencies and coordinate in-service training.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility standards.
• Support infection control and quality assurance programs.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff.
