Job summary

Golden Sonora Care Center is seeking an experienced Director of Staff Development to lead our employee education and training programs. This leadership role ensures staff competency, regulatory compliance, and ongoing professional development to support exceptional resident care.

The position plans, coordinates, and oversees orientation, in-service education, competency validation, and continuing education for clinical and non-clinical staff, fostering a culture of learning and accountability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or healthcare setting required.
• Current California LVN/LPN or RN license preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations.
• Experience with employee onboarding, training, and competency assessments.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate new hire orientation programs.
• Develop and deliver required in-service and ongoing educational programs.
• Monitor and maintain employee training records and compliance requirements.
• Conduct skills validations and competency evaluations.
• Support quality assurance, performance improvement, and survey readiness initiatives.
• Collaborate with department leaders to identify and address educational needs.
• Promote a positive learning environment that supports staff growth and retention.
