Job summary

Genesis HealthCare in Parkersburg, WV is seeking a Registered Nurse educator to support staff development and ensure high-quality patient care in a nursing center setting.

You will report to the Director of Nursing, develop education programs, supervise onboarding, and conduct competency evaluations to improve clinical outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN license.
• Minimum of three years full-time or equivalent clinical experience preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in long-term care with one year as educator preferred.
• Excellence in clinical nursing skills required.
• Experience in Gerontology preferred.
• Training and/or experience in adult learning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Nursing.
• Develop education programs in response to staff needs and teach current patient care and nursing center practices.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees during their orientation period.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluation and clinically appraise nursing staff performance to identify education needs.
• Provide oversight to Employee Health Program, including TB and hepatitis vaccines and influenza immunizations tracking for all employees.
