Job summary

Juniper Square is seeking a Staff Design Engineer to define and scale its design system, setting the standards for UI quality and AI-enabled design-to-engineering workflows. You will work across Design, Engineering, and Product to shape the system, governance, and adoption at scale.

You will write code, prototype, and guide strategy while modeling hands-on execution. Ideal candidates bring deep front-end tech taste and experience in complex B2B/enterprise SaaS environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years across design and front-end engineering with leadership impact.
• Proven design systems leadership with roadmap, governance, and adoption experience.
• Strong front-end skills: TypeScript, React, CSS; able to write production code
• Experience defining technical strategy for design tooling and AI-enabled workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the design system strategy and roadmap; set governance and contribution model.
• Define the AI enablement strategy for design-to-engineering workflows from prototype to production.
• Set technical direction for UI quality across the product and advocate standards.
• Identify systemic quality gaps and plan corrective actions across product surfaces.
• Build infrastructure that enables designers to ship in code via scalable workflows and templates.
• Collaborate with Design and Engineering leadership to align on long-term direction.
