SHEIN is seeking a Staff Database Engineer to maintain and scale production database infrastructure across MySQL, ClickHouse, and MongoDB, ensuring zero downtime and robust security. You will own automation, collaborate with global teams, and contribute to capacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster readiness, while on-call responsibilities are part of the role.

The role requires strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure), Linux proficiency, and scripting in Golang or Shell to build reliable

Qualifications

• Hands-on MySQL database management experience (4+ years).
• 4+ years cloud experience (Azure/AWS).
• Strong Linux, storage, networking knowledge.
• Ability to manage production systems with on-call duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain scalable production DB environments across MySQL, ClickHouse, and MongoDB.
• Monitor database health, diagnose issues, and implement fixes.
• Optimize performance via query tuning, indexing, and diagnostics.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts/tools to streamline operations.
• Collaborate with development teams to guide database design and best practices.
• Manage upgrades, migrations, and schema changes with minimal disruption.
• Triage and resolve incidents, drive on-call response and preventive actions.
• Conduct capacity planning and benchmarking across DB technologies.
• Ensure data integrity, high availability, security, and privacy compliance.
