Job summary

MyFitnessPal, Inc. is seeking a Staff Data Systems Architect to lead the end-to-end design of our product data stack and drive the architecture roadmap.

You will coordinate across Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Product Analytics, and backend teams to standardize data movement and enforce governance policies. You will influence tool selections, vendor evaluations, and ensure security/compliance (PII handling, DSR workflows) while promoting automation and scalable architecture principles

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in systems design, architecture, or engineering roles, including 3–5 years on data platform architecture at staff level.
• Experience integrating modern customer data stack tools (e.g., Amplitude, Eppo, Harness, AppsFlyer, Braze).
• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms, including performance tuning and RBAC design.
• Experience leading vendor evaluations, tool consolidations, or platform migrations.
• Experience implementing data governance, security, and compliance frameworks (PII handling, deletion/DSR workflows).
• Proven ability to define architecture standards and enforce them via automation.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of the MyFitnessPal product data stack.
• Develop and maintain the data stack architecture roadmap.
• Serve as primary Data Platform contact for consolidated data stack across teams.
• Define and enforce data movement and standardization across the stack.
• Lead architecture reviews and evaluate new tool decisions and vendor options.
• Contribute to compliance architecture for user data (PII tagging, DSR policies).
• Document and evangelize architecture decisions, standards, and ownership models across the organization.
