Job summary

MyFitnessPal, Inc. is seeking a Staff Data Systems Architect to join the Data Engineering team.

You will own the end-to-end design of the product data stack and drive the architecture roadmap to support analytics, BI, experimentation, and backend data services. You will lead architecture reviews, govern data movement and security, and collaborate across Data Engineering, BI, Product Analytics, and backend teams.

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years in systems design, architecture, or engineering roles, including 3-5 years designing end-to-end data platform architecture at the architect/staff level.
• Experience architecting integrations of a modern customer data stack — product analytics, experimentation, attribution, and marketing activation tools (e.g. Amplitude, Eppo, Harness, AppsFlyer, Braze).
• Experience in Snowflake or similar cloud data platform, including performance tuning, cost optimization, and RBAC design.
• Experience leading vendor evaluations, tool consolidations, or platform migrations.
• Experience implementing data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, including PII handling and deletion/DSR workflows.
• Demonstrated experience defining architecture standards and enforcing them via automation.
• Cost-conscious ownership of infrastructure and vendor spend; balancing performance and cost.
• Proven ability to drive architecture decisions across teams and organizations.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end systems design of the product data stack.
• Develop, drive, and maintain the systems architecture roadmap for the product data stack.
• Serve as the primary Data Platform contact for the consolidated data stack across teams.
• Define and enforce data movement and standardization discipline across the stack.
• Lead architecture review of new tool decisions and vendor assessments.
• Contribute to the compliance architecture for user data, including PII tagging and deletion/DSR policy.
• Administer access and licensing across the data stack with a single spend view.
• Document and evangelize architecture decisions, standards, and ownership models.
