Socure in Miami is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to join the Watchlist Data Science team. You will work on the hardest problems in entity matching and classification: scaling our real-time matching engine, building NLP models for NER and information extraction, and bringing next-generation research to production.

This senior IC role directly impacts how financial institutions manage sanctions and AML risk.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data science or ML with NLP / information extraction.
• Experience in AML, sanctions screening, or financial crime detection preferred.
• Hands-on NLP pipelines for entity extraction and NER at production scale.
• Multilingual NLP and non-Latin script processing a strong plus.
• Experience with LLMs and agentic AI frameworks is a plus.
• Strong Python and ML libraries with SQL proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of NLP systems for entity matching and information extraction.
• Design and scale real-time name matching and risk scoring across multilingual data.
• Build and maintain benchmarking, datasets, and regression tests for the match engine.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to deliver production-grade systems.
• Mentor peers and drive technical excellence in Watchlist Data Science.
