Job summary

Snowflake is seeking a Staff Data Scientist in Finance to lead driver-based revenue modeling and productionize forecast systems that connect product levers to revenue. You will own high-impact, open-ended problems, collaborating with Product Finance, Analytics Engineering, and GTM teams to deliver explainable, scalable models.

You will guide modeling strategy, ensure data quality, and mentor teammates while communicating clear insights to executives and business leaders.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience building and operating production-grade statistical/forecasting/ML systems with business impact.
• Strong forecasting, driver-based or unit-economics modeling, and data-driven decision support experience.
• Deep modeling skills including time-series forecasting, causal inference, and probabilistic methods.
• Proven ability to operate with imperfect data, define defensible assumptions, and close data gaps.

Responsibilities

• Own and scale a standardized driver-based revenue modeling framework across product categories.
• Define driver trees, attribution rules, measurement standards, and taxonomies linking adoption, workload, usage, and pricing to revenue.
• Develop statistical, econometric, and ML methods to identify indicators and quantify relationships.
• Forecast drivers and revenue across short- and long-range horizons using suitable modeling approaches.
• Build self-service scenario tools with multi-year views by workload, region, and cohort.
• Establish rigorous evaluation, backtesting, and versioning for model governance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data gaps and incorporate business context.
• Communicate forecast movements and uncertainties to senior leadership.
• Mentor scientists and help raise technical standards across the team.
