Job summary

Stord is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to advance our data science and ML capabilities across the platform. You will lead high-impact modeling efforts, shape the data science stack, and partner closely with engineering to deploy models at scale.

You will drive ML innovation, establish best practices, and mentor teammates while translating complex tradeoffs into clear guidance for executives.

Qualifications

• Expert-level Python programming with production code experience.
• Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL and BigQuery experience.
• Deep understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning fundamentals.
• Experience deploying and operating models in production environments, including monitoring and retraining.

Responsibilities

• Own the most complex, high-stakes modeling problems end-to-end from framing to production.
• Define and implement data science standards, tooling, and infrastructure choices.
• Collaborate with engineering to embed models into production systems and APIs.
• Lead technical discussions with leadership on data strategy and investments.
