Job summary

Launch Potato is seeking a senior data scientist to build models that decide which auto insurance carrier a shopper sees on our marketplace. You will own the data, build production-ready models, and manage them through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing optimization.

You will work with an ML engineer on the production side, focusing on improving ROAS and scalable data-driven bidding. This role is remote-first with East Coast hours.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on applied data science with measurable business impact.
• Your models drove paid media decisions: spend, bidding or ad serving.
• You built what's on your resume and can explain it down to the loss function and architecture choice.
• You see how today's bids shape tomorrow's training data, and you've handled late labels, sparse features or drift.
• You own models end to end: you find your own data, build through deployment and monitoring, and bring a point of view.
• Expert Python and SQL

Responsibilities

• Build and validate production ML models to optimize insurance carrier matching and marketplace bidding.
• Collaborate with ML engineers on production deployment and monitoring.
• Frame problems with the business, source data, and iterate end-to-end.
• Drive model improvements to handle drift and changing objectives.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle from data discovery to deployment and monitoring.
