Job summary

Slack is seeking a Staff Data Scientist for the Business Data Science team to leverage data in driving growth and business success. A strong communicator with analytical rigor, you’ll work with cross-functional peers and influence leadership decisions.

In this role, you’ll partner with Growth to uncover opportunities, build scalable analyses, and deliver impactful models and dashboards that empower teams across Slack and Salesforce ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of professional quantitative analysis experience.
• Related technical degree required: BS in a quantitative field; MS/PhD a strong plus.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and at least one data science language (Python, R, or Scala).
• Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation, causal inference, ML and analytical problem solving.
• Proven ability to communicate complex analyses to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Slack Growth teams to understand drivers of business and accelerate growth.
• Synthesize insights into clear narratives for senior leadership.
• Develop frameworks to identify patterns in customer behavior.
• Build self-service tools and reports to empower data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate with Data Eng, PDE, and GTM teams to power analyses.
