Job summary

Slack is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to join the Business Data Science team in San Francisco. You will leverage data to drive growth and inform senior leadership decisions, communicating complex analyses clearly and driving impact across the business unit.

The role focuses on forecasting, identifying growth opportunities, and creating reusable analytical tools in collaboration with PDE teams. A strong communicator with a growth mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of quantitative data science experience.
• Strong SQL and at least one programming language for data science (Python, R, or Scala).
• Solid foundation in statistics, experimentation, causal inference, ML, and analytical problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Growth teams to understand drivers of business growth.
• Synthesize insights into clear narratives for senior leadership.
• Develop frameworks to identify patterns in customer behavior.
• Build self-service data tools and reports to drive awareness of key metrics.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to power core data models for analyses.
