Job summary

Tilt Finance is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to advance foundational modeling that informs credit decisions and risk. You will work with a small, senior team of data scientists and engineers to design and apply deep learning to financial data challenges, including credit decisioning and transaction modeling.

You’ll pioneer agentic tools to speed up experimentation and collaboration, translating theoretical advances into practical business impact for millions of customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• Proven deep learning experience with neural nets, embeddings or transformers.
• Experience applying ML to financial services: credit, lending, payments, or banking.
• Strong ability to translate complex ideas into practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test new deep learning modeling approaches (transformers, embeddings, neural nets).
• Integrate models into Tilt's ML pipelines to improve credit modeling and loss prediction.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers and product teams to deploy impactful solutions.
• Experiment with representation learning, pretraining and fine-tuning on financial data.
