Job summary

Angi is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to help build our agent suite for Pros, an AI system that automates and runs the Pro’s business. The role spans shaping agent behavior, evaluation, experiments, and production modeling, with direct impact on Pro revenue.

You will collaborate with engineers, PMs, designers, and operations to scale data-driven solutions while mentoring teammates and driving innovation in advanced data science techniques.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience in data science and machine learning.
• Experience with non-deterministic outputs (LLM apps, conversational agents, ranking/recommendation systems).
• Expert in statistical thinking and experiment design (power, sample size, sequential/non-inferiority).
• Proficient in SQL and Python; experience with cloud ML solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead improvements to agent conversation, qualification, and booking.
• Build evaluation systems to measure agent quality and run design-of-experiments.
• Analyze real conversations to identify failure modes and inform improvements.
• Develop predictive models and deploy them in production with monitoring.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, designers, and ops to scale data-driven solutions.
• Foster innovation and mentor junior team members.
