Job summary

Pantheon seeks a Staff Software Engineer for the Data Platform to extend and scale its data infrastructure. You will lead a cross-functional team, design scalable data models, and drive adoption of modern tooling across product teams and ML initiatives.

You will work hands-on with Snowflake, GCP, Airflow, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Great Expectations, mentoring engineers, implementing automated tests, and shaping the data stack from ingestion to analytics across Pantheon.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of distributed data systems for high throughput and low latency.
• Ability to design scalable data models for OLAP/OLTP with data integrity.
• Experience with data governance frameworks and observability tooling.
• Experience setting technical direction and mentoring engineers.
• Understanding of business value and alignment with company goals.
• Excellent communication of designs, status, and risk to stakeholders.
• Experience embedding automated tests and data validation into pipelines.
• Value security, trust, modular design, containers, idempotency.

Responsibilities

• Take the platform to the next level by surfacing data insights in product experiences.
• Lead Data Platform team, maintain and enhance core services for ingestion, curation, and retention.
• Build with Snowflake, GCP, Airflow, Docker, and Terraform.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the group.
• Own full lifecycle in a DevOps model with testing, operations, and support.
• Drive continuous improvement of engineering standards and practices.
• Partner with Product, Sales, Ops, Finance to deliver data solutions.
• Support reliability through on-call participation and performance tuning.
