Job summary

The Voleon Group is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Data Infrastructure to scale our data platform and tooling. You will lead large-scale projects, collaborate with ML researchers and engineers, and shape the data infrastructure roadmap.

You will mentor engineers, design robust services and APIs, and ensure scalable, reliable systems. Proficiency in Python/Go/Java/C++ and experience with PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and cloud data tools are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven design and implementation with focus on correctness, robustness, efficiency, and scale.
• Experience with large codebases and modular, maintainable software.
• Expertise in Python, Go, Java or C++.
• Design and implementation of scalable services/APIs and large-scale data infrastructure.
• Experience with data storage/management technologies (PostgreSQL, Artifactory, Ceph, Redis).
• Strong communication and ability to explain complex ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex initiatives from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Build scalable data infrastructure and improve developer experience.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering and research staff.
