Job summary

Lightfield is building an infrastructure-first data platform for its AI-native CRM. As a Staff Engineer, Data Infrastructure, you'll own core data systems—Postgres, Redis, and event pipelines—working close to product teams and customers to deliver scalable, reliable data foundations.

You will scale the analytics path behind customer dashboards, design ingestion paths and schemas, evolve a schema-flexible model, and help shape architecture as the company grows, with hybrid work options in San

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience owning production data systems with measurable user impact.
• Ability to debug across multiple layers of the stack.
• Good judgment between quick fixes and durable platform changes.
• Product-oriented mindset with impact on customers and velocity.
• Excellent communication and strong ownership.
• Bias toward practical tradeoffs in engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

• Scale the analytics engine behind customer dashboards with emphasis on performance and observability.
• Design ingestion paths, event models, and schemas for reliable data movement.
• Evolve a schema-flexible data model to keep queries fast as data grows.
• Build foundations for historical reporting and auditability (versioning, history).
• Develop data systems for usage metering, pipeline generation, and AI evaluation.
• Decide when the existing architecture suffices or when new analytics systems are needed.
• Set technical direction and engineering practices for data systems.
