Lightfield, an AI-native CRM company based in Cambridge, is seeking a systems-focused engineer to own data-heavy subsystems. You will work on databases, scheduling, permissions, and distributed systems that share customer data.

The role emphasizes hypothesis-driven design, deep system understanding, and careful experimentation in a fast-paced environment. You’ll join a small, infrastructure-focused team in Kendall Square, collaborating with a site lead who is among our most senior infrastructure

Qualifications

• CS degree or related field required.
• Experience with OS, databases, distributed systems, or security.
• Curiosity about how systems actually work and ability to discuss tradeoffs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design and review distributed systems and data models.
• Implement and optimize query performance, permissions, and scheduling.
• Debug production issues across apps, databases, queues, and infra.
• Collaborate with site lead and senior engineers to review work.
