Job summary

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to design and implement scalable data solutions across domains. You will build and optimize pipelines, ensure data quality, and apply advanced data modeling in cloud environments to empower decision-making and operational excellence.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, implement ETL/streaming solutions, and drive data governance while leveraging Google Cloud, Spark, Hive, and Kafka for high-performance data infrastructure in Bentonville

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
• Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related field.
• Option 3: Master’s degree in Computer Science and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
• 3 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines and architectures to support business analytics and operational needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Implement data integration, transformation, and quality frameworks using modern ETL and streaming technologies.
• Ensure data governance compliance by applying regulatory and ethical standards in data handling and storage.
• Utilize cloud platforms and big data tools to automate data workflows and improve processing efficiency.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to maintain reliability and performance.
• Provide technical guidance on data modeling, storage, and metadata management best practices.
