Job summary

Walmart Global Tech is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to design and implement scalable data solutions across domains. You will build and optimize pipelines, ensure data quality, and apply advanced data modeling in cloud environments to empower decision-making and operational excellence.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, implement ETL/streaming solutions, and drive data governance while leveraging Google Cloud, Spark, Hive, and Kafka for high-performance data infrastructure in Bentonville

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 4 years' experience in software engineering or related field.

Role summary: As a Staff Data Engineer, you will design and implement scalable data solutions that support complex business needs across multiple domains. This role involves developing and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and applying advanced data modeling techniques within cloud and big data environments. You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions, driving data governance and strategy adherence. Your expertise in modern data engineering tools and practices will enable the delivery of reliable, high-performance data infrastructure that empowers informed decision-making and operational excellence.

What you’ll do…

• Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines and architectures to support business analytics and operational needs.

What you’ll bring: Proven expertise in data engineering, including designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines. Proficiency in Python programming and experience with ETL processes and big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hive, and Kafka. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud, and modern data warehousing solutions. Experience implementing data quality frameworks and ensuring compliance with data governance and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automated deployment in data environments. Solid understanding of data modeling techniques and metadata management across data platforms.
