Job summary

Form Energy is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to build the data systems behind deployed energy storage projects. You will turn real-time telemetry into reliable, query-ready datasets and lead design of novel data solutions with a hands-on approach.

You’ll own streaming and batch pipelines, work with field operations, hardware and analytics teams, and help scale data capabilities across manufacturing and R&D. Relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, software engineering, data engineering or computer engineering plus 7+ years of data or software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to design and operate production data pipelines with reliability as a priority.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, Java or Go.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate streaming and batch pipelines for real-time telemetry data.
• Lead the operational-telemetry data products and extend the core platform.
• Create technical design docs and RFCs and align with stakeholders.
• Model time-series and event data for downstream analytics and applications.
• Build data orchestration (Dagster, Prefect, or Airflow).
• Stand up and manage AWS infrastructure and IaC (Pulumi/Terraform).
• Collaborate with field operations, hardware engineers, and analysts to translate needs into data.
• Participate in on-call rotations and mentor teammates.
