Job summary

LMI is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and build scalable data architectures, ontologies, and integrations across Army enterprise systems using Palantir Foundry. This hands-on role emphasizes operational data foundations and AI-enabled workflows.

You will work with software engineers and stakeholders to connect personnel, units, equipment, and installations, ensure data quality and security, and advance NLP and agent-enabled processes across DoD environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Six+ years of experience in data engineering/architecture or related disciplines.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience building production data pipelines, transformations, and integrations.
• Experience with complex data modeling across multiple sources.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry, Army Vantage, Maven or comparable platforms.
• Experience integrating data from APIs, databases, and unstructured sources.
• Understanding of data quality, lineage, governance, security, and access controls.
• Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data architectures, pipelines, and integrations using Palantir Foundry and related platforms.
• Lead ontology development for operational entities and relationships across sources.
• Model data connecting personnel, units, equipment, installations, and resources.
• Assess existing models to identify reuse, extension, and improvements.
• Integrate structured and unstructured data from Army and DoD systems.
• Establish data quality, lineage, governance, security, and access controls.
• Develop ontology objects, relationships, and workflows for AI-enabled capabilities.
• Collaborate with software engineers to enable NLP querying and agent workflows.
• Guide data architecture decisions and best practices across teams.
• Translate mission requirements into technical solutions with stakeholders.
• Support interoperability across Palantir Foundry, Army Vantage, Maven.
• Contribute hands-on to development, testing, deployment.
